Fengshan Single Member Constituency was a former Single Member Constituency within Bedok, Singapore.
History
[edit]The constituency was created in 1984 from parts of Bedok, Changi & Kampong Chai Chee constituencies. As the population in Bedok grew, the constituency was absorbed into the Bedok Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the 1991 general elections.
In the 2015 general elections, the constituency was carved out from East Coast GRC and became Fengshan Single Member Constituency. Cheryl Chan from the People's Action Party contested against Dennis Tan of the Workers' Party.[1][2] Chan would proceed to defeat Tan with 57.5% of the vote against Tan's 42.5%.[3] Tan would later accept his NCMP post.[4] In the 2020 general elections, Fengshan SMC was reabsorbed back to East Coast GRC.[5][6][7][8]
