Summary

Description
English: Animated sequence of images of Jupiter's irregular moon S/2016 J 3 (the moving fuzzy gray dot at center) from the 4.0-m Victor M. Blanco Telescope's Dark Energy Camera (DECam) at Cerro Tololo Observatory. This animation consists of two images taken on 23 March 2017 06:02-06:34 UTC; first frame is a 220-second exposure while second frame is a 200-second exposure, both in the VR filter. North is up and East is left. Bright white pixels and streaks that sporadically flicker between images are artifacts caused by cosmic rays and camera defects.
