Summary[edit]

This photograph, of my own copy of the book which was purchased in the 1960s, shows the now-rare set of the complete first paperback edition in twelve volumes of Churchill's historic work. The covers illustrate the enormous importance given to the book, with Churchill's name extremely prominent, and the interesting choice of volume titles, some of which are reused from the 6-volume hardback edition (where each volume represents two paperback volumes). Since the editions are discussed in the article, and the cover images are not available free, the usage of this image at low resolution (note it is 12 volumes in one image - the area per volume is only 250 x 394) is considered fair usage.
