Notes "Forse proveniente dal Palazzo Elettorale di Düsseldorf o come invio dell'Elettore Palatino, o come parte della proprietà di Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, rientrata in patria nel 1717, dopo la morte del marito (nel 1716). Il dipinto, pendant del 1890/3781, rappresenta Elisabetta Edvige Sobieska, penultima sorella dell'Elettore Palatino, che sposò, nel 1691, Iako Ludwi g Sobieski, figlio del re di Polonia. L'opera è stata riconosciuta alla ma no di Van Douven da Silvia Meloni, insieme ad altri due ritratti provenienti dalla Galleria degli Uffizi, oggi in deposito presso l'alloggio prefettizio (1890/ 3781 e 4348). Questi dipinti fanno parte di una serie di Douven ovali eseguiti dall'artista per illustrare la famiglia di Giovanni Guglielmo, marito di Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici. La serie, eseguita fra il 1690 e il 1710, comprende un gruppo di 21 ritratti che sono al Poggio Imperia le e 10 tele, rimaste agli Uffizi. Le opere hanno dimensioni simili, fosma ovale e cornici finemente lavorate. Le condizioni di conservazione sopra segnalate compromettono una corretta lettura delle qualità cromatiche del dipinto"
