Description
Español: La obra representa el momento en que el rey Pedro I de Castilla (1334-1369), fue asesinado por su hermanastro, Enrique II de Trastámara, y el personaje que aparece en pie y sujetando al rey Pedro I para que su hermano pudiera matarle es el célebre condestable francés Bertrand du Guesclin, que según la tradición en aquella ocasión pronunció la célebre frase: «Ni quito ni pongo rey, pero ayudo a mi señor». Este cuadro fue presentado en la Exposición de Bellas Artes de 1884, donde logró la medalla de tercera clase, y fue adquirido por el Estado español y actualmente se halla en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Zaragoza.
