Description
English: These animals are plentiful in the interior and live in holes in the ground. They have only four claws in front and behind, the front ones are very long and suitable for digging.

They live in groups and are easily tamed, and they do not stink. this animals comes close to a viverra. They live on plants and on also birds, mice etc.

In the Hottentot language called garáa, and our farmers call them graatje.
Nederlands: Dese dieren syn veel in de binnenlanden en leven in Holen in de Grond, hebben maar vier klaauwen voor en agter de voorsten seer lang en tot graven geschikt.

Sy houden sig in troppen by elkander en syn ligt tam te maken, en stinken niet, dit dier koomt het naaste bij een viverra. leven van kruiden en ook van vogels, muisen etc:.

In het Hottentots Garáa, en door onse buitenlieden worden sy Graatje geheten
Français : Ces animaux sont abondants à l'intérieur et vivent dans des trous dans le sol. Ils n'ont que quatre griffes devant et derrière, celles de devant sont très longues et aptes à creuser.

Ils vivent en groupes et sont facilement apprivoisés, et ils ne puent pas. Cet animal se rapproche d'un « viverra ». Ils se nourissent de plantes et aussi d'oiseaux, de souris, etc.

Dans la langue Hottentot on les nomme Garáa, et nos agriculteurs les appelent « Graatje ».
