Kakavand District (Persian: بخش کاکاوند) is in Delfan County, Lorestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Haft Cheshmeh.[3]
Demographics[edit]
Population[edit]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the district's population was 23,598 in 4,574 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 21,837 people in 5,172 households,[5] by which time the village of Haft Cheshmeh had been elevated to the status of a city.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 19,127 inhabitants in 5,284 households.[2]
In 2023, Itivand and Mirbag Districts were established, with two rural districts each that were transferred from Kakavand District and the Central District, respectively.[7]
