Lakes in Antarctica
[edit]I did Lake Patos (AfD discussion), helping the disappearing ducks. Tag! You are it. ☺ Uncle G (talk) 22:05, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ok. I already did thousands of stubs on the other half of Antarctica. This one looks like yet another merge and redirect. Step one is to find an online map... Aymatth2 (talk) 22:54, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
Places with a past
[edit]I don't know whether you'll enjoy countering systemic bias on this one and putting the old pre-independence history in; with Harry L. Ford and the police station that couldn't go in the shopping centre. But here it is, in case you might. There appear to be a few more sources, beyond what I mentioned, on how the area has changed post-independence. Uncle G (talk) 07:23, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

Your essay about content assessment
[edit]Thank you for explaining the process and rationale behind the process. I found your essay really helpful.
"One may question the value of developing an article to GA or FA status in an attempt to satisfy the serious student or researcher. Would any serious student or researcher use Wikipedia? Perhaps getting more articles up to C class, meeting the needs of most readers, gives greater payback."
This is such a valuable perspective to me. I've made it my mission to expand stub and start class articles about literature, and I used to be very disappointed about the all the Cs I kept getting. This was a much needed reality check. Of course I'm still happy if I can get an article to B, but now I see how upgrading to C too is well worth my time and effort. --Adelequested (talk) 15:06, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- I am glad it was helpful. I admit to being a bit cynical about the rating process, though. I think the best we can do is try to develop accurate, useful articles, and pay no attention to the ratings. Aymatth2 (talk) 16:19, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
