  2. Thanks for your help today with the typo I found which needed editing. I did look around for some sort of edit on the page itself, and didn't see it, but will look harder next time. Editor of the Week

[edit]
Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:HouseBlaster submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

Before one can even think about expanding content, you have to find your sources. User Bsoyka is a name you can find all over the archives of the resource request page, helping connect editors to the sources they need to improve content. (I count 131 "Bsoyka"s at /Archive 174 alone.) He also writes content, on topics as varied as a museum (WP:GLAM!), a gorgeous monument, and a World War II veteran. His bot fixes erroneous links to The Wikipedia Library, making it possible for readers to fact-check our sources for themselves. He helps answer questions from the next generation of Wikipedia editors through the Growth Team's mentorship program. We all know how tricky and demanding it is to get started as an editor, and I am sure his mentees sincerely appreciate his friendly, helpful and constructive demeanor. All in all, I'd say Ben is pretty deserving of a moment in the spotlight. AstonishingTunesAdmirer and TechnoSquirrel69 seconded this nomination.

@HouseBlaster, AstonishingTunesAdmirer, and TechnoSquirrel69:
What a pleasant surprise! I'm truly honored to see that I've been able to positively impact a handful of people around here. With seemingly small contributions like hunting down sources, it can be hard to remember the larger difference that we all make every day. Initiatives like this one help me remember that everything I've done here is all worth it. (So thanks for keeping EOTW running, @Buster7!)
I went back to read the supports on this nomination—thank you for the kind words there, too, however tucked away in the page history they may be!
I know my activity has been a little less consistent lately than I'd like it to be, but definitely consider this editor retained! (and incredibly appreciative!) (and totally only crying a little bit!) Bsoyka (tcg) 03:27, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
RL always comes first. But in the meantime, you absolutely deserve it, Ben :) HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 03:57, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with this, it's most definitely deserved. Sometimes it's seemingly little things that are most impactful. Thank you for your hard work! AstonishingTunesAdmirer 04:29, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Two things I must share. 40 years ago my best friend ever passed away. He was a Yellow Lab/Weimaraner mix that my sons named Grover. I hope you can appreciate my pleasure when I saw the Image of Ghost on your talkpage. Also, I'm glad you took the initiative to go back and search for the seconds original entry. I do my best to integrate the seconds into the nomination, but space and duplication are considerations. Best to you. Buster7 Chat 17:47, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ooh! I just noticed this on my watchlist, huge congratulations! and absolutely deserved! Sohom (talk) 18:00, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats!
