Party Membership of Scott Bessent

I have a short question.

Ancestry

The 'Early life and education' section has Scott Bessent listed as French Huguenot and Scottish sourced to a paywall tabloid link, but it appears by these ancestry pages, including a Bessent/Basnett family tree book stored in Boston's American Ancestor's building, that Scott is paternally English, and maternally Scots-Irish by lineage.
