Women in Red June 2025

[edit]
Women in Red | June 2025, Vol 11, Issue 6, Nos. 326, 327, 339, 340

Online events:

Announcements:

  • Who are the most overlooked and interesting Women in Red? We've no idea,
but we're putting together our list of the 100 most interesting ex-Women in Red.
We are creating the list to celebrate 10 years of Women in Red and we hope to present it at Wikimania.
We are ignoring the obvious, so do you have a name or subject we should consider?
Can you suggest a DYK style hook?
If you are shy about editing that page, you are welcome to add ideas and comments on the talk page.

Information icon Hello, I'm Lukewarmbeer. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Quentin Crisp, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. This the subject ongoing discussion and your edits are premature. Talk:KRC Genk#Requested move 29 June 2025

Talk:KRC Genk#Requested move 29 June 2025 - this was a bad page move, no consensus, please self-revert and re-list. GiantSnowman 18:00, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What a thought-provoking argument. Let me consider it. Hmmm... No. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 18:42, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

July music

[edit]
story · music · places

Today is Bastille Day, commemorated by a DYK as my "story" and a visit to the Bastille Opera in "music". I like the interview coming with the story, on the day before the big event, but for pomp and circumstance, the affair with 600 singing children and orchestra, and the singer dressed in the national flag, was also captured on videos, much slower. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:28, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I've been missing out on your posts while I was gone, Gerda! I'll take this as a sign to go listen to Jessye Norman as soon as I have the chance :) -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 18:46, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Better listen to her in other music, of course ;) - I didn't like the DYK's focus on celebrity, but it fit nicely today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:44, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been obsessed with Schubert's "Der Tod und das Mädchen" lately. I'll give her interpretation a listen once I'm home. :3 -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 20:04, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good! - Three Ukrainian topics were on the main page today, at least at the beginning, RD and DYK, - see my talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:21, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Three of "my" recent deaths bios are on the main page right now, one my story today, Gary Karr, and I loved to find his breakthrough concert in 1962 as a video. In my music today I match it with 9 other double bassists, 7 conducted by a person who's birthday is today - coincidence ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Béatrice Uria-Monzon and her story, Julia Hagen and her no story --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:54, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
On Bach's day of death, I decorated my user pages in memory, with his music, and my story ends on "peace". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:01, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There was one oppose and one support and the nominator was ambivalent and based purely on a perceived inconsistency between the title and the article itself. Per ngrams it is almost always used as in capitalized form, virtually every book that refers to this concept uses it in all caps, [1]. There was no consensus here, it was exactly 1-1 and the single supporter ignored WP:COMMONNAME due to a misunderstanding of how this phrase is used. This should be relisted. PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:38, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing it out, I must have rushed that one. I'll reverse and relist that! -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 09:15, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
