Re: Schumacher[edit]

It doesn't exactly help when all different sites come up with contrasting views. As per the FIA regulations, the pole position driver is the driver that is first on their official published grid. When Schumacher's penalty is applied, the driver that will go into the record books as the driver that started the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix from pole position, is Mark Webber. For instance, at the 2005 Italian Grand Prix, Juan Pablo Montoya was recognised as the pole position driver, after Kimi Räikkönen took a ten-place grid drop for an engine change. That's why Räikkönen has 16 poles, and that's the logic behind this Monaco pole. Craig(talk) 18:26, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
