Wes Climer (born September 26, 1982) is an American politician. Since 2016, Climer has represented the 15th District (York) in the South Carolina Senate. He is a member of the Republican party.[1]

Elections[edit]
- 2016 South Carolina Senate election: In 2016, Climer defeated long-time Republican incumbent Wes Hayes in the Republican primary for the 15th District Senate seat. Prior to that, Hayes had represented the district since 1991.[2]
- 2020 South Carolina Senate election: In 2020, Climer defeated Democratic challenger Vickie Holt in the general election.[3][4]
- 2024 South Carolina Senate election: In 2024, Climer will face a third-party challenger, Sarah Work of the Alliance Party who previously challenged Senator Harvey Peeler Jr. for the 14th District seat in 2020.[5]
Tenure[edit]
Climer is a member of the South Carolina Senate from the 15th District, serving since 2016.[6] He chairs the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and serves on the Senate Family and Veterans' Services, Judiciary, Legislative Oversight and Transportation Committees.[7]
