لاتین کلاسیک اصطلاحِ مدرنِ موردِ استفاده برای توصیف گونه‌ای از زبان لاتین است که بوسیلهٔ نویسندگانِ اواخر جمهوری روم و امپراتوری روم به عنوانِ زبانِ استانداردِ لاتین به رسمیت شناخته شده است.

لاتین خوب در فیلولوژی به ادبیاتِ لاتین کلاسیک گفته می‌شود. اصطلاحِ لاتین خوب اشاره دارد به گروهی از آثار ادبی در زبان لاتین که در اواخر جمهوری روم و اوایل امپراتوری روم نوشته شده‌اند.^[۱]
