Pod koniec stycznia 2018 roku stacja CBS zamówiła pilotowy odcinek komedii[20]. W kolejnym miesiącu poinformowano, że Odessa Adlon otrzymała rolę jako Shannon, siostrę Clem[5]. W marcu 2018 roku ogłoszono, że Nina Dobrev, Tone Bell, Sheryl Lee Ralph i Brian Stokes dołączyli do obsady komedii[6][4][3].

12 maja 2018 roku stacja CBS zamówiła serial na sezon telewizyjny 2018/2019[21][22].
