Cape York - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cape York is the northernmost point of Australia. It was named by Lieutenant James Cook in 1770 after the Duke of York.[1] From the tip, it is about 160 km to New Guinea across the islands, coral reefs and sand banks of Torres Strait.
