Indian religions or Indic religions are religions that originated from the Indian subcontinent. Dharma is an idea common to many of these religions.

The following religions are based on the ideology of Dharma:

• Ayyavazhi - originated from Tamil Nadu
• Buddhism
• Hinduism
• Jainism
• Sikhism - originated in the Punjab

Ethnic/folk religions[change | change source]

The following religions are not necessarily based on the concept of Dharma and have their own ideologies:

• Sanamahism - originated from Manipur
• Donyi Poloism - originated from Arunachal Pradesh
• Bathouism - originated from Assam
