Shelby County is a county in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 48,065.^[1] Its county seat is Shelbyville.^[2] The county was formed in 1792^[3] and named for Isaac Shelby, the first Governor of Kentucky.^[4]
