Ajaypal Singh Banga (born November 10, 1959[1]) is an Indian-born Punjabi business executive.[2] He is currently the President of the World Bank Group.[3] He was vice chairman at General Atlantic,[4] and was before that executive chairman of Mastercard.[5][6]

Banga was elected President of the World Bank on May 3, 2023, after being nominated to the position in February 2023 by President Joe Biden.[7][8]
